About Naturopathy

Working with nature, not against it

Naturopathic philosophy trusts the body's own capacity for balance and looks to the foundations of wellbeing — rather than focusing only on surface symptoms.

A guiding philosophy

Supporting the body's natural balance

Naturopathy is less a single technique than a way of thinking about wellbeing. It asks what the body needs to find its own equilibrium, and it favors gentle, natural approaches and education over quick fixes.

At Dr. Kaushik's, naturopathic principles blend seamlessly with Ayurveda. Both traditions share the same spirit: that lasting wellbeing grows from balance, prevention and understanding — and that each person deserves to be seen as a whole.

Enduring principles

What guides a naturopathic approach

Honor the body's vitality

Trust and support the natural drive toward balance that lives in every body.

Look to the root

Seek the underlying source of imbalance rather than only easing surface symptoms.

Gentle approaches first

Favor natural, low-risk practices that work with the body, not against it.

Teach & empower

Help each person understand their own body, so they become an active partner in their wellbeing.

Prevention first

Build daily habits that keep you well, rather than waiting for imbalance to take hold.

The whole person

Consider body, mind, lifestyle and environment together — never in isolation.

Naturopathic experience at the center

Dr. Somesh N. Kaushik holds a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine (ND) from the University of Bridgeport, where he also taught, alongside more than 40 years as an Ayurvedic Vaidya. Dr. Nidhi Esha Kaushik brings a Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine and a fresh, research-informed perspective to the family practice.

Together they weave naturopathic thinking and Ayurvedic wisdom into guidance that feels both time-honored and grounded in modern understanding.

Naturopathic care is not a licensed profession in the State of New York. The credentials noted reflect each practitioner's education and training. Services at the center are educational and support general wellbeing — they are not medical care and do not replace your physician.
